OLNEY SPRINGS — There is a boil order in place for the town of Olney Springs, east of Pueblo.

A construction crew blasted through a pipeline Tuesday and possibly contaminated the water.

Town Trustee Neil Briggs tells News5 the community is redoing a sewage line, and a construction crew severed the water line.

Briggs says lines have been secured but it is automatically considered a contaminated system until samples test as clean.

Water samples have been sent to Pueblo for testing and Olney Springs is awaiting those results.

Briggs says town officials went door to door to inform residents of the order, the system was flushed, and every effort was made to mitigate any contamination.
