AURORA — Newly released body camera footage shows the scene around an Aurora police officer who, in March, was found passed out drunk at the wheel of an unmarked car.

In the video an Aurora officer describes the passed out officer as "a little intoxicated."

According to the Denver Post, Officer Nathan Meier was never investigated for driving under the influence although other officers reported they smelled alcohol and talked about his possible intoxication at the scene where he was found. Following an internal investigation, he was demoted.

The body camera footage showed multiple first responders attempting to talk to Meier as he sat in the vehicle. One officer can be heard commenting on Meier's apparent intoxication in the footage. Other officers made note in their written reports that they smelled alcohol on Meier and in the car, according to the Post.

Despite all of this, a DUI investigation was never completed into Meier's actions.
