COLORADO SPRINGS — There was a wildlife rescue in downtown Colorado Springs Monday evening.

Firefighters and Parks & Wildlife officers responded to Acacia Park to get a bear cub out of tree.

Authorities said the bear had been up in the tree since Sunday.

After the cub was safely removed from the tree, it was taken to nonprofit Wet Mountain Wildlife Rehabilitation in Wetmore, where it will be fed and taught to fear humans before its release into the wild next winter.
