It seems hard to imagine but it's August 1st and that means a return to the classrooms of School District 49. As a result, streets and sidewalks will be much busier in northeastern and southeastern Colorado Springs this morning.
District 49 spent the summer under construction with additions to many schools, renovations, and the brand new Inspiration View Elementary. All of the projects came from recently voter-approved funds.
News5's Caiti Blase spoke with kids returning to school and district spokesperson David Nancarrow about what happened this summer and what's ahead for the school year.
