ROCKY FORD — The oldest continuous fair in Colorado will happen in 2020.

The Arkansas Valley Fair is happening, but with modifications in place due to COVID-19.

4H, FFA events, and Watermelon Day are on. The Demolition Derby, Carnival, and Parade have been canceled.

"Every year, for 143 years they have given away a watermelon. And we will be doing that and that is our importance because we are considered the oldest continuous fair in the state of Colorado. And we want to continue that," Sally Cope said.

The fair is scheduled for the Aug. 19 - 23.
