PUEBLO — The annual Police vs. Fire Ice Cup charity hockey game in Pueblo has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.

This event helps generate funds for youth-related programs, including the Heroes and Helpers program. Heroes and Helpers allows local law enforcement to accompany underprivileged children on a Christmas shopping trip. Proceeds from the Ice Cup primarily funds this.

Since the hockey game is postponed, the Pueblo Police Department is looking for other ways to raise funds. The department will be holding a silent auction that will be posted and shared soon on the Pueblo Police Department Facebook page, Ice Cup webpage, and the Pueblo Police Benevolent Association Facebook page.

"So with ice cup being postponed, we are still going to help out other programs that connect kids with police, not only just bettering those trust relationships but really helping those kids out in need in our community," said Crime Prevention Officer Brandon Beauvais.

Since the Ice Cup began back in 2016, it has raised over $50,000.
