ARAPAHOE BASIN — It may still feel like summer in much of Southern Colorado, but Arapahoe Basin is getting ready for the winter season.
With snowmaking set to start in less than a month, the snow guns are in place on the hill. They'll be tested in the coming days.
A-Basin says it doesn't have an opening date set, but is aiming for mid-October.
The earliest opening day ever for the ski area was Oct. 9.
A-Basin says no matter what, "The Legend" will host the longest ski and ride season in Colorado.
