East Troublesome Fire explodes in size to 170K acres, becoming 2nd largest wildfire in state history
The East Troublesome Fire is now the second-largest fire in state history at about 170,000 acres after it grew another 50,000 acres on Thursday following a 100,000-acre run on Wednesday. The fire has forced evacuations in both Grand and Larimer counties. If you were planning on traveling to the high country this weekend, don't: That's the advice from CDOT as several wildfires continue to rage in northern Colorado, Grand County and Estes Park.

Pueblo Library Board rejects proposal to take responsibility of Columbus Statue
The Pueblo City County Library District Board of Trustees voted down a proposal Thursday night on whether to take responsibility for the Christopher Columbus statue and to develop a plaza on library property. The proposal was presented by city council to develop the plaza to include other statues of historical significance in order to bring a more diverse display of social justice, equality, and race relations.

Bitter cold today before a dramatic warm-up on Saturday with high fire danger
Cloudy and cold across southern Colorado today behind the cold front that swept through the region on Thursday. We're going to see temperatures in the 20s and 30s this morning turn into highs in the 30s and 40s. Overnight we're going to see lows drop down into the 20s once again, but with much lighter winds and weak wind chills.

Water supply at risk of going dry within months in southern Colorado town
As Colorado continues to grow at record pace, the growing pains that come with that aren’t mixing well with the state’s severe drought conditions. Because of that, the Pueblo County town of Colorado City is at risk of having its water supply go dry within months.

Trump plans to vote early in Florida on Saturday
President Donald Trump plans to cast his ballot in person on Saturday, taking advantage of Florida’s early voting period. The White House says the president will vote in West Palm Beach, a short drive from his Mar-a-Lago private club, and, as of 2019, his official residence. The club is located in the town of Palm Beach, which doesn’t have any early voting locations.
