BLACK FOREST – When tough times come around, many folks seek out loved ones.

A group of four-legged friends across the country are training to comfort those who can’t turn to loved ones when tragedy strikes.

The “Go Team” held a training Sunday in Black Forest to add members to the group. The dogs are taught to look after people following traumatic events, like the Waldo Canyon Fire in 2012.

The group was created that same summer and the dogs were used to comfort those who lost their homes.

The national group recently sent dogs to comfort people after the shooting in Virginia Beach, as well as the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh.
