PUEBLO – The Pueblo Police Department has arrested a man suspected of armed robbery at a local Dairy Queen.

According to the department, officers responded to an armed robbery in progress at 9 p.m. on April 29th at the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill on Oakshire Ln.

PD said the caller reported a man was inside the business armed with multiple handguns and robbing the business. He left with an undisclosed amount of money and unsuccessfully attempted to carjack a woman in the drive-thru. He then ran away on foot.

Pueblo PD said at that time, officers were unable to locate the man.

That same day at approximately 10:50 p.m., another robbery call was received from the Dairy Queen, according to Pueblo PD.

PD said that as employees were leaving the business, the same man from the earlier robbery again unsuccessfully attempted a carjacking. This time his target was an employee.

Officers established a perimeter and located the man hiding in the prairie using night vision equipment. He was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, according to Pueblo PD.

The department has identified the man as 37-year-old Levi John Roberts. He has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery, two counts of Attempted Robbery, and Felony Menacing.
