PUEBLO WEST — The community of Pueblo West has collected more than $500,000 from the district’s marijuana excise tax, or the process of moving pot products from facilities to stores.

Now, $350,000 is available for use and community leaders are considering how to best use those funds.

Options being considered include repairing the district building, an aquatics center or helping the fire department with a new station.

To date, excise tax money in Pueblo West has been used for paying the salaries of people who manage the tax, repair a road for a new business and fund a study and a grant.
