Armed robbery under investigation in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS – Police are looking for the person responsible for robbing a person leaving work at gunpoint at a Colorado Springs shopping center early Thursday morning.

Police said it happened around 12:40 a.m. in the 3000 block of Cinema Point, which is near the Cinemark movie theater at Powers and S. Carefree Circle.

Officers said a heavy white or Hispanic man wearing all black clothes with a red bandana pointed a handgun at the victim and took his wallet. Police said he also hit the victim in his face. The victim told police the suspect left in a dark-colored sedan.

CSPD said officers searched the area for the vehicle, but they couldn’t find it.
