COLORADO SPRINGS – Academy Blvd. is down to one lane in each direction between Dublin Blvd. and Woodmen Rd. until 5 a.m. tomorrow for paving.
The city says drivers should expect delays and strongly encourage you to find alternative routes.
The work is in preparation for the opening of three lanes on Academy Blvd. in each direction.
Meanwhile, throughout the month of April, the speed limit is reduced to 30 mph through the project zone and commuters may still run into occasional lane closures on Academy while crews finish up their work.
The project is replacing an aging, substandard bridge, bringing the structure up to modern safety standards and will complete an important connection on the Cottonwood Creek Trail.
The project is on track to be completed by April 30th, weather permitting.
