COLORADO SPRINGS – Just before 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, CSPD responded to a crash at Roller Coaster Rd and Honey Run Way.
According to CSPD, a single car was southbound on Roller Coaster at a high rate of speed and lost control. The car crossed into the northbound lanes, overcorrected, and flipped onto its roof.
Both the driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital.
CSPD said the passenger was a toddler and did not appear to be in a child seat. The toddler was later taken to a Denver area hospital with serious bodily injuries.
The driver, identified as 23-year-old Claudia Castellano, was arrested for suspected DUI causing serious injury and an unrelated warrant.
No further information on the incident or the toddler’s condition has been released at this time.
