Trail users warned about booby trap on Colorado Springs trail

COLORADO SPRINGS – According to the Trails and Open space coalition, two cyclists were thrown from their bicycles after hitting a trip line on the Rock Island Trail.

One of those cyclists was local artist Nard Claar, who suffered a broken collarbone, broken ribs and a concussion from the crash. The other cyclist suffered bruises but was not seriously hurt.

The incident happened on the trail at the bridge near Union Boulevard. The Trails and Open Space Coalition said police are investigating the incident.
