Denver area teacher arrested on charges of sexual assault on a child

CENTENNIAL – A Spanish teacher at Arapahoe High School in Centennial has been arrested on charges of sexual assault on a child by someone in a position in trust and sexual exploitation of children/pornography/obscene material, according to the Arapahoe County Sherrif’s Office.

Reporting partner 9News in Denver reports that 24-year-old Sarah Porter was arrested on Friday after authorities followed up on an anonymous tip from a student through Safe2Tell.

The Sheriff’s Office said she is accused of assaulting a 16-year-old student at the high school.

Porter reportedly had taught Spanish at Arapahoe High School since August 2018 and served as an assistant volleyball coach in the fall and as an assistant track coach.

Littleton Public Schools placed Porter on administrative leave on March 21st and on Monday, the district said she would not return to the school or the district.
