COLORADO – The Colorado Department of Transportation wants to hear your opinions on the Gap Project for Interstate 25 between Monument and Castle Rock.

We’ve spent a lot of time in our news broadcasts, in our written online stories, and on social media keeping you up to date on the project to widen the area using your tax dollars, plus the plan for an express/toll lane in each direction.

The anonymous survey wants to know where you live, how far away you live from the Gap, how often you use that stretch, and why.

There’s also a section on how aware you are of the project, where you heard about it, and your familiarity. (Hint: You can find a lot of background on KOAA.com)

Of course, whenever there is a large project of this type people wonder when it will be completed and if it is on budget. Then there are the complaints about the impact on daily life and the quality of the drive.

The express lanes/toll lanes are a sore topic for many who voted to fund the project and saw their city and county vote to add funds, only to hear they’ll have to pay in order to use lanes.

Here’s just one question on that topic.

One of the major components of this project is the addition of an Express Lane in each direction for this stretch of I-25 that will allow people to use it for free provided they have three or more people in their vehicle. How often do you anticipate using it in this scenario?

Let your opinion be known. Fill out the survey here – CDOT I-25 South Gap Project Survey
