COLORADO SPRINGS — Two Southern Colorado schools will close on Friday due to high rates of illness.

James Irwin Charter Schools in Colorado Springs will be closed for Friday, February 15th due to extensive illness.

The school says the extra day will allow staff to thoroughly clean and sanitize all common surfaces in buildings to hopefully curb the spread of germs.

Miami-Yoder School District JT-60 is also closed on Friday. The district says the closure is due to widespread illness among staff and students.
