FORT CARSON – Talk about great timing, another wave of Fort Carson soldier’s arrived back on the Mountain Post, just in time to share hugs and kisses with their family and friends on Valentine’s Day.
About 100 soldiers with the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade arrived home Thursday afternoon after a nine month deployment to Europe in support of the “Atlantic Resolve” mission. This is just the latest in a number of deployments for these soldiers, but returning home on this day we celebrate love, was special.
Major Ryan Sommer told News5, “It’s exciting, especially after nine months, it’s very exciting to be back and be with the family and even better that it’s on Valentine’s day”.
We can expect more of our brave soldiers to return in the coming days and weeks, and we thank them all for their service and sacrifice, and are so glad they returned to Colorado Springs, safely.
