COLORADO SPRINGS – All southbound lanes of Powers Blvd. reopened late Wednesday night after being closed for most of the day due to downed power lines.
However, the right turn lane from southbound Powers Blvd. onto Stetson Hills Blvd. remains closed.
Colorado Springs Utilities says one lane of southbound Powers will close again at 9 a.m. Thursday morning between Dublin and Stetson Hills Blvd. so that repairs can be completed.
All southbound lanes were shut down Wednesday afternoon after strong winds toppled power poles, knocking out power to thousands in the area.
Colorado Springs Utilities has since restored power to almost everyone impacted by Wednesday’s outage. However, repairs to the poles snapped by the high winds will continue throughout the day Thursday.
