PUEBLO — The teacher’s union in Pueblo is lending support to their colleagues in Denver, set to strike Monday unless a deal can be reached before that time.

Members of the Denver Classroom Teacher’s Association are due to walk out of classrooms next week due to failed negotiations with Denver Public Schools.

There is a meeting scheduled for Friday evening to further negotiations, but it’s unclear if anything will be accomplished.

Now, the Pueblo Education Association will send up to 4 members to support the movement, says President Suzanne Ethredge, “more than anything I hope that they are able to stay strong and stay unified on their message because in all the teacher strikes this is also about our students and I hope Denver teachers remember that and stay strong and unified and come to a successful conclusion.”
