BOULDER — Dogs are supposed to bark, right? Not in the city of Boulder if that barking becomes what anyone could consider a nuisance.

Right now, fines are issued to pet owners if there are two separate complaints from two separate people about barking dogs.

But, if a new ordinance passes, owners could face fines if just one person complains and has video proof of that barking.

Neighbors have mixed opinions on the matter, which virtually encourages those upset with their neighbors and pets to capture events on camera.

The proposed ordinance needs one more reading by county commissioners before it’s passed.
