COLORADO SPRINGS — Garden of the Gods park is celebrating improvements along two trails, Foothills and Gateway.
Dedications were held Wednesday afternoon. Work started last September to improve access to areas surrounding those trails. There is also a new pedestrian bridge across Camp Creek that will greet people who come over from the visitors center.
Trail organizers say the improvements were a long time coming because the trails get so much use and more and more visitors are entering the park on a regular basis.
The project cost around $840,000 some of which came from the lodging and car rental tax.
