CSPD arrests man for sexual assault on a child, claim long history of abuse

COLORADO SPRINGS – On Wednesday, the Colorado Springs Police Department reported the arrest of 67-year-old Joseph Davis for sexual assault on a child.

The department said their investigation into the man revealed a long history of sexual abuse.

According to CSPD, on Dec. 12, 2018 officers were dispatched to a sexual assault call for service in the 900 block of E. Fountain Blvd.

Davis is accused of initiating sexual contact with a juvenile victim. Probable cause was established and Davis was arrested on Dec. 18, 2018 for sexual assault on a child.

CSPD said that during their investigation, detectives discovered evidence that indicated ongoing sexual abuse of other children and the production of child pornography stretching back at least 35 years.

According to CSPD, Davis lived near a local school, a local community center, and a park which is frequented by juveniles of varying ages. To date, CSPD detectives have contacted and interviewed “a number of witnesses and potential victims.” Detectives are still interested in speaking with anyone who may have had contact with Davis at or near his home.
