PUEBLO – Homelessness is a growing problem in Southern Colorado and the city is taking steps to solve it.
City council members in Pueblo will vote today on whether to create a commission for homelessness.
The current homeless shelter is considered only a temporary solution.
The Home of Heroes wants to put together this commission and if it is approved, the group will work toward providing a permanent overnight shelter.
“Once we get that squared away then we can start really focusing on the folks that are trying to do better and trying to get a leg back up in the community,” said Lee Gladney, commission member.
