COLORADO SPRINGS – A man faces burglary charges after Colorado Springs police say they caught him trying to enter a home.

Around 3:45 A.M. Thursday police were called to a home in the 00 block of North 23rd Street for a burglary in progress. They were told a male broke a window at a home and was trying to enter.

When officers arrived they say they found a man holding a broom handle trying to get inside. They say he refused to obey commands from officers.

Police released a charge from a taser to subdue the man, identified as 45-year-old Larry Scarborough, and arrested him. Officers say he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
