MONUMENT – Lewis-Palmer School District 38  is warning parents there is a delay for student transportation after school due to winter conditions.

At 3:55 p.m., the district was considering allowing bus routes to run for elementary, middle and high school students.  All students were anticipated to arrive home between 4:45 and 5:15 p.m.

However, the roads are causing more problems than expected. As of 4:45 p.m., parents of elementary schools students are requested to pick up their children at the campus. Any students not picked up will take the bus home, as soon as the buses arrive at the campuses.

The district started student pickup times as follows:

  • High Schools – 4:15 p.m.
  • Middle School – 4:05 p.m.
  • Elementary Schools – 4:30 p.m.

Furthermore, the YMCA is unable to provide after-school care leading to the cancellation of all activities today.
