WELD COUNTY – An investigation is underway following the third officer-involved shooting in Colorado on Wednesday.

9NEWS in Denver reports that a person was taken to the hospital after a chase near Evans around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to 9NEWS, two cars were being chased by deputies when one eventually stopped near 42nd Avenue and Highway 85 in Evans.

It’s unclear exactly what led up to the shooting, but an officer shot their gun, injuring one of the people in the car. One person was taken to the hospital. No officers were hurt.

This shooting came after two other officer-involved shootings earlier in the day on Wednesday. The first happened in Englewood Wednesday morning near the Swedish Medical Center while officers investigated a report of a stolen car.

Englewood Police said police shot a 26-year-old woman.  Police also took a 35-year-old man into custody.

The second of the day happened in Fort Lupton when officers fired shots while responding to a disturbance.
