Mt. Carmel hosting hiring event for veterans

Mt. Carmel is hosting a hiring event today, Wednesday, January 16th from 10-3.

COLORADO SPRINGS – Veterans and service members trying to transition back to civilian life can attend the Mt. Carmel hiring event today, Wednesday, January 16th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Justice Department is hiring 50 corrections officers to work at the Florence Federal Correctional Complex.

Participants in today’s hiring event should bring a current resume, DD214, any VA disability letter, a government-issued ID, and proof of wartime service, if applicable.

Coordinators will consider giving priority to veterans with disabilities, those with wartime deployment service, and anyone who has left the service within the last three years.

Some veterans up to 56 years old may be eligible for an age waiver.

Honorably discharged veterans are encouraged to attend the event as well.
