Care and Share Food Bank to offer free food to those affected by government shutdown

COLORADO SPRINGS – Care and Share Food Bank will host a food distribution event in Colorado Springs on Friday.

The food bank said this event is being provided to those affected by the government shutdown as well as anyone else who is in need.

The event is scheduled for Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at its facility located at 2605 Preamble Point in Colorado Springs.

Care and Share volunteers will load fresh and frozen food into cars that drive by the facility during the event.

As of Wednesday, the shutdown is now in its record-setting 26th day and there is no sign that either side will back down anytime soon.
