EL PASO COUNTY – We have a reminder for you, time is running out to renew your eligibility for SNAP funds.
The El Paso County Department of Human Services said as of Sunday afternoon, more than 2,000 households had not yet submitted required paperwork to receive benefits for February.
The government shutdown is prompting DHS to hand out benefits for January and February all at once, before resources run out.
The deadline to apply is 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The DHS office will be open extended hours Monday, from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
