BRECKENRIDGE – The ever-present threat of wildfires is changing the way Breckenridge celebrates the fourth of July.

The Summit Daily reports that town officials have officially taken fireworks off the table for this year. They said they’re tired of scheduling a show that keeps getting canceled.

Last year, drought force several mountain towns to cancel their shows, including Breckenridge, Keystone, and Vail.

The town is still working to decide what to do in lieu of the fireworks.
