WOODLAND PARK – The Northeast Teller County Fire Protection District posted video to its Facebook page of a rescue involving a mule Monday.

The owner of the mule, told firefighters that they thought the animal had been in the hole for two days.  Firefighters hoisted the animal out of the hole using a harness and a backhoe.

Thankfully, the animal was not injured in the fall or during the rescue.  It isn’t the first animal rescue in recent weeks in Teller County for many of the same firefighters.

They also recently rescued a buck from a frozen pond on Nov. 26.
