COLORADO SPRINGS – The City of Colorado Springs is facing a lawsuit over the cancellation of a conference by a group with anti-immigrant views.
According to the Colorado Springs Independent, the VDARE Foundation is suing Mayor John Suthers and the city over his declaration in 2017 that Colorado Springs would not provide any support for the group because of its views. The Cheyenne Mountain Resort canceled the group’s reservation for their conference, which would have been held in April of last year.
The group is suing Mayor Suthers and the city for a million-dollars saying the group’s First Amendment rights were violated.
