OTERO COUNTY – A gas leak has forced inmates in the Otero County Jail into other facilities.
The Otero County Sheriff’s Office said the leak happened outside the building and the gas has been shut off until repairs can be made.
For safety and comfort, inmates are now being housed in Bent and Pueblo Counties until the gas can be turned back on.
Repairs are expected to be completed by Tuesday.
