Pueblo Police arrest stabbing suspect

PUEBLO – Pueblo Police arrested a man suspected of stabbing another man twice in the chest on New Year’s Eve following an “extensive” search.

Police arrested 49-year-old Brehon Herlihy after officers said he stabbed a 41-year-old man in the chest twice just before 10:30 p.m. Monday. It happened in the 1700 block of East Orman Avenue, which is about a block north of St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center.

Police said Herlihy was booked into the Pueblo County jail on suspicion of first-degree assault. The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
