PUEBLO – Thursday night, 12/27, Pueblo Police Officers responded to a residence on the south side of the city on a report of a suicidal man.
Pueblo PD said the man “engaged officers in a violent struggle” when they attempted to place him on a gurney for transport to the hospital.
Officers deployed a taser, but it was ineffective due to heavy clothing.
PD said the man spit in Officer Bryan Gonzales’ face and bit him on the hand before officers were finally able to secure the man to a gurney.
The unidentified man was then taken to a local hospital where he was medically cleared. He was later booked into the PCDC for assault on a peace officer.
