MONUMENT – Santa didn’t drive a sleigh with reindeer Saturday in Monument.

Instead, the big man came in a motorcade of police cars and fire engines as the 14th annual “Santa on Patrol” event took place at the police department throughout the community.

Police officers, firefighters, and other first responders all donate to help purchase the toys for the event.

“We as the Monument Police Department, all law enforcement, first responders to include fire, are here for them,” said Santa. “This is our job, this is what we take great joy in when we get to help all of the families.”

Walmart also made a substantial donation and students at Lewis-Palmer High School decorated Santa’s sleigh.
