LA JUNTA – News5 has learned the former Fire Chief in La Junta is facing 22 criminal charges.
According to court documents, Aaron Eveatt is accused of embezzlement, theft, cybercrime, and official misconduct.
A clerk with the Otero Co combined courts tells News5 he has not yet been served with a summons to appear in court.
The alleged crimes occurred between April 2015 and December 2018.
Eveatt has been on leave since earlier this month. He’s served 27 years with the La Junta Fire Department.
