EL PASO COUNTY – The El Paso County coroner has identified the man killed in a fire at a mobile home park east of Colorado Springs last Wednesday.
Authorities said 64-year-old Steven Cryer was found dead in the home. Colorado Springs firefighters determined it was caused by the “careless discarding of smoking materials.”
Firefighters also said there were no working smoke alarms found or recovered inside the home. The fire happened at a mobile home off of Western Drive in the Springs Roberts Communities.
Firefighters discovered Cryer’s body once the fire was extinguished.
