PUEBLO – A homeless man has died after being hit by a car Saturday night in Pueblo.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Eagleridge and Dillon Dr.

According to Pueblo Police, a 16-year-old boy was driving to work Saturday around 6 p.m. when he made a turn at the intersection, hopped the curb, and drove over the grass. The homeless man was reportedly sleeping and wearing camouflage at the time. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness to the incident called police, who along with the Fire Department, responded to the scene.

Pueblo Police were able to contact the family of the driver because his license plate was still at the scene. The driver was contacted and according to police, he said he had no idea he had hit someone.

Pueblo PD said the teen driver will face charges, though what those charges will be has not been determined yet.

Police have not yet been able to identify the homeless man.
