Gov. Hickenlooper orders flags lowered in honor of Army Sergeant Jason McClary

DENVER – Monday, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings on Tuesday, Dec. 18th, 2018 in honor of U.S. Army Sergeant Jason McClary.

McClary was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs and has family in Fountain. He will be buried Tuesday in Pennsylvania.

The 24-year-old McClary died on Dec. 2nd from injuries sustained from a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. While serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, McClary earned two Purple Hearts and three Army Commendation medals.

McClary is survived by his wife, Lillie, and two sons, Jett and Jason.
