Two armed robberies overnight on South Union Blvd

COLORADO SPRINGS – Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery and an armed robbery on the same block of S. Union Blvd late Wednesday night.

Colorado Springs Police have not confirmed if the two incidents are related as investigations are still underway.

However, both incidents were on the 500 block of South Union Blvd where a clerk or clerks were threatened with a weapon by a suspect.  There’s only one store, a liquor store, on that block east of Memorial Park near the intersection of S. Union and Airport Rd.

In the first robbery reported at 8:53 p.m., the suspect did not get away with any money or merchandise.

The second robbery was reported at 10:10 p.m. According to police, the suspect threatened the clerk with a gun and was able to get away with merchandise or money.

Officers were unable to find the suspect in the area.
