WASHINGTON D.C. – Three fallen Pueblo Police Officers will be forever remembered in the nation’s capital.

The officers will be remembered in Washington thanks to Pueblo Police Historian, Peg Powell.

Officer Alvin Phippenney, Night Marshall Casper Zweifel, and Officer Moses Lovern were all killed in the line of duty before the 1900s. Their names are already on the local and state memorials, but thanks to Powell’s due diligence, these three officers will be on the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Washington D.C.

“I think it is wonderful,” said Peg Powell. “I think these guys should not be forgotten. They gave their lives, providing safety for our community and we should never forget them.”

There will be a ceremony in D.C. to induct the three fallen officers in May.
