COLORADO SPRINGS – The Arapahoe County Coroner is identifying the suspect in the Falcon Walmart sexual assault and kidnapping case as 38-year old Michael Kekauwa Keliiholokai.

On Wednesday, Dec. 5th,  El Paso County deputies were called to the Walmart at 11550 Meridian Market View for a reported stranger kidnapping and sexual assault.

After loading groceries into her car, the victim went to return her cart. It was at this time the suspect got into the back seat of the victim’s unlocked car. When the victim returned, the suspect put a gun to her head and told her to drive.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect then directed her to a remote location and sexually assaulted her. He then forced her to drive back to the Walmart and park behind the store. At this point, he left the victim and walked back to his car.

The Sheriff’s Office said community tips and “tenacious” investigative work led to the suspect being located in Aurora.

At approximately 9 p.m. Friday night, the Sheriff’s Office and Aurora SWAT responded to the 1200 block of S. Zeno Circle in Aurora. At some point during the police response, Keliiholokai shot himself in the head and was pronounced dead.
