COLORADO SPRINGS — A Colorado Springs surgeon is going above and beyond to help families when they are most at need. Dr. Pat Devanney is moonlighting as a shoe shiner to help raise money for the John Zay Guest House.

The guest house is a safe and comfortable place for families to stay while their loved ones are hospitalized at Penrose Hospital. Dr. Devanney says this is his way to spread cheer during the holiday season and benefit people who need care in a different way.

You can find the shoe shining Dr. in the lobby of Penrose main every Tuesday throughout the rest of December from 9a.m. to 11 a.m. The shoes will be shined for free, but donations for the cause are appreciated.
