Wildfire management teams to conduct controlled burns in Northern El Paso County

Posted

EL PASO COUNTY – On Tuesday, Nov. 27th, the El Paso County Wildland Fire Management Team in conjunction with El Paso County Parks and Regional Fire Departments will conduct pile burning in the northern end of El Paso County.

The county said their efforts will focus on the Black Forest and Fox Run Regional Park areas.

According to the county, the mitigation efforts are part of a long-range plan to improve the overall health of the forest by removing diseased and damaged trees and reducing fuels available to burn during wildland fires.

The controlled burns will continue in a variety of areas throughout the county during the fall and winter months.

Smoke is expected to be visible in the affected areas.
