COLORADO SPRINGS – Thanksgiving week is projected to be one of the busiest travel holidays in over a decade and traffic is expected to start getting very heavy starting Tuesday on many of Colorado’s roads.

The Colorado Department of Transportation is trying to help out and they’re putting ongoing construction projects on hold to help make it easier for drivers. CDOT is suspending all of their construction projects at noon on Wednesday and they won’t resume them until Monday.

CDOT is warning drivers to be prepared for the heavy holiday traffic, especially on Wednesday and Sunday. Roughly 930,000 Coloradans are traveling for the holiday this year.
