COLORADO SPRINGS – Police are looking for the driver who hit a person riding a bicycle on Constitution Avenue Friday morning.
CSPD closed Constitution Ave. for several hours from Sussex Lane to Berkshire Lane while they investigated what led up to the crash.
Police said it happened 5:30 a.m. when someone driving east on Constitution hit a cyclist crossing the road. Officers said the driver got out of their car and left it unattended on the Rock Island trail, which runs next to the scene along Constitution Avenue.
A suspect name or description has not been released.
The victim was taken to the hospital, and police said the person suffered non-life threatening injuries.
