FLORISSANT – The Teller County Sheriff’s Office is asking people who grow marijuana at home to be familiar with regulations following an illegal grow bust at a home in Florissant Saturday.

Deputies arrested 31-year-old Brandon Strausser after they found 61 marijuana plants and about three ounces of processed marijuana in a home off of Drees Drive, in the Valley High subdivision Saturday.

Strausser was booked into jail on a felony marijuana charge with a $2,000 bond.

All residences in Colorado are required to abide by the limit of 12 plants per household for recreational use. A single person over the age of 21 is limited to six plants per household with as many as three plants flowering at a time.
